Céline-Marie Vidal

​Dr Céline-Marie Vidal is a volcanologist and CNRS Professor Chair in Aix-en-Provence, France. She holds a BSc and MSc in Chemistry from the École Nationale Supérieure de Chimie de Lille, France, an MSc in Geology from the Universitat de Barcelona, and a PhD in Earth Sciences from the Université Panthéon-Sorbonne Paris. Her groundbreaking research—including the discovery of previously unknown volcanoes and the redefinition of the timeline of humankind—has been published in leading scientific journals, recognised with awards, and featured in documentaries and international media. Until 2026, she was an Assistant Professor at the University of Cambridge, UK, where she was awarded an honorary Master of Arts in 2023.

Alongside her academic career, she works as a Red School Menstruality Mentor, and facilitates women’s circles dedicated to reclaiming feminine leadership and creativity through the practice of Menstrual Cycle Awareness (MCA). Since 2024, she guides Rematriation retreats for women into sacred caves of Provence to foster reconnection with the Earth Mother. She advocates for the integration of menstruality principles in academia and holds the vision of a world reconnected to cyclical wisdom. Her first children's book to initiate young girls to the magic of cycles wisdom was published in 2025 in English and in French.

Céline-Marie has been teaching yoga and meditation since 2016. She graduated with the Vasishta Yoga Research Foundation at Chinmaya Ashram, India. Her approach to yoga has gradually transformed after years of yogic practice in the tantric tradition of Kashmir Shaivism taught by Eric Baret.

 

Painting is her oldest passion, and her artwork depicts a devotional exploration of the divine in all things blending painting, bodyprints and calligraphy. It has been exhibited in Cambridge and London. Her teachings and art interweave cyclical and Earth wisdom drawn from both modern science and indigenous traditions
